Various types of assessments are possible depending upon the age and problems of your child. All assessments involve a clinical interview with the parents, observation of the child and formal psychological testing. We offer 4 main types of assessments.
This type of assessment is a comprehensive assessment which covers all domains of cognitive ability. This assessment includes a core battery of tests and then has flexible add-on modules according to the needs of your child. This type of assessment is most suitable for children with a variety of disorders that affect the brain such as head injury, brain tumours, pervasive developmental disorders, genetic based developmental disabilities, cerebral palsy, & epilepsy. The type of assessment is for children primarily with learning difficulties, with no known other impaired cognitive abilities. This assessment will examine your child's level of general intellectual ability (IQ) as well as their academic achievement skills (reading, spelling, mathematics). We will be able to formally diagnose whether your child has a specific learning disability such as dyslexia, dysgraphia or dyscalculia. If your child has signs of attentional difficulties we recommend the more comprehensive neuropsychological assessment. More info....
This assessment is aimed at children in preschool, particularly before school entry. This type of assessment is particularly useful if you are considering whether your child is intellectually and emotionally ready to start school. More info....
This assessment will determine whether your child has ADHD, and if so, what type of ADHD subtype they have. Will be put together recommendations for a treatment system and will be able to offer you various therapeutic options. More info....
